This winter festival celebrates birds, nature, and history in the Sulphur Springs Valley of southeastern Arizona. AVONDALE:Tres Rios Nature & Earth Festival

B&M Wildlife Area, Celebrate the heritage, ecology, history and wildlife of the area where the Gila, Salt and Agua Fria rivers meet. Exhibitors, sponsors and organizations will have booths; food and drink will be available for purchase at several spots; canoe floats will be offered on the river at the festival - learn a little about boating in Arizona and go for a paddle on the Gila River; guided hikes, self walks and bird watching will be offered; free fishing clinic - fishing equipment is provided, no licenses required; a separate fun area where kids can get outside and have some fun - walk a short nature trail, look at wildlife artifacts, make some crafts, get your face painted and more. Ben Avery Shooting Range (Exit I-17 at Carefree Highway, go west ½ mile and follow the signs). This is a great event to experience or learn more about the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities in Arizona. BISBEE: Fiesta de las Aves

The Festival of the Birds is a traveling affair, with activities taking place at a series of outstanding birding locations in Cochise and Santa Cruz counties, including the Huachuca and Chiricahua Mountains, San Pedro River, and Patagonia. There is a variety of activities for birders and other wildlife enthusiasts. The festival format encourages broader participation from visitors, residents, volunteers, businesses, and organizations, reduces the cost of most field trips, and spreads the economic benefits of birding tourism to more communities. PAYSON: Payson Wildlife Fair

Green Valley Park, a carnival full of wildlife and hands-on outdoor activities for all. Parents and kids can fish, play games, and get a close-up look at wildlife, including birds of prey, rattlesnakes and Gila monsters. No fishing license is required for fair attendees and equipment and bait can be borrowed from the free fishing booth at the fair.
